Historically, the building was the location of various furniture manufacturers and most recently in the 1990's, before conversion into residential apartments, was the location of a popular venue for experimental music, called Astrocade.

The design scheme pays homage to 1027 Ridge being the former home of Astrocade, a venue for creative musicians, and its roots as a manufacturing hub.
Spring Arts District in Callowhill is an up and coming neighborhood that is home to a series of amazing outdoor murals in partnership with Mural Arts. It is also home to restaurants such as Roy Pitz Barrel House, El Purepecha, Cafe Lift, Prohibition Taproom, Sazon, and W/NW/N.
